The Sun signifies office and the right to command
Office can carry the living because the Sun signifies kingship and authority over the masses, public reputation and honors. The father and the master also belong to its judgment.[1] These significations give a Leo Fortune a clear social direction: the body’s livelihood can depend on holding office or receiving the favor of someone who does.
The favorable version gives responsibility with the income to carry it. The harder version gives a title whose obligations exceed its authority. A theater director expected to answer for a production while a financier can overrule each decision faces a distinctly solar problem of rank.
Planets in Taurus can strengthen the place of rank
Taurus is the tenth sign from a Leo Fortune. A dignified Venus there occupies Fortune’s place of rank[1] and squares the Lot. This adds a benefic associated with favorable agreements and valuable work to the solar promise of recognition. The office has a means of paying for itself.
Saturn in Aquarius opposes a Leo Fortune from its seventh place and has domicile strength.[2] A powerful opponent can therefore confront a livelihood built on recognition. Authority and obstruction can occupy the same configuration: the ruler’s allies matter when rank comes with powerful opposition.
