Part of Fortune in the 7th House: Meaning and Ruler

In Book II, Valens gives benefics ruling Fortune or the Ascendant from the seventh gains through inheritance or a death. Their own places make the outcome stronger; without that advantage, his judgment remains moderate prosperity rather than destitution. When these rulers lack their appropriate condition or sect, the judgment becomes severe about a wretched old age and confinement.[1] A ruler’s ability to preserve the living matters more here than the favorable appearance of an agreement.

An able ruler of a seventh-house Fortune can favor livelihood through partnership or the handling of another person’s assets. An afflicted ruler tends to make the same involvement expensive. A settlement that gives ongoing income belongs to the favorable side of this reading; a dispute that repeatedly consumes income belongs to its difficult side.
