28 Chinese Sieu

The Chinese lunar lodges, or sieu, divide the heavens into 28 segments organized under four great celestial palaces, each associated with a cardinal direction, a season, and a mythological animal. The Azure Dragon guards the East and Spring; the Red Bird presides over South and Summer; the White Tiger watches the West and Autumn; and the Black Warrior rules the North and Winter.
