Kio

Kio, meaning 'the Horn' or 'Spike,' is the twelfth Chinese sieu, corresponding to Spica (alpha Virginis). Ruled by Jupiter, this mansion marks the beginning of the Azure Dragon palace and was historically the first sieu at the earliest period, beginning at the September equinox.

The horn represents the dragon's first visible feature as it rises, the sharp point that announces the arrival of the great celestial beast.

Kio holds immense historical significance as the original starting sieu of the Chinese system. Its position at the September equinox made it the natural marker for the beginning of the astronomical year in ancient China. Jupiter's rulership brings expansive, wisdom-seeking energy to this point of origin.
