Do I Have a Stellium?

A stellium is usually three or more eligible chart bodies concentrated in one zodiac sign or one house. Some astrologers count planets only, so the exact result depends on the convention. This stellium calculator groups your birth chart placements by sign and house, then shows whether the cluster still counts under the stricter 4-body rule.

The useful answer is plain: yes, no, or borderline. If you have one, the result names the sign, house, and bodies involved. If you do not, read your chart through other emphasis points: chart ruler, angular planets, dominant planet, and major aspect patterns.

What This Stellium Calculator Checks

The sign check uses the same eligible-body set as the Aspect Pattern Scanner: Sun through Pluto, Chiron, and the Ascendant when a known birth time supplies it. A sign stellium means three or more of those bodies are in one zodiac sign.

The house check uses Whole Sign houses and groups eligible bodies with house placements. It does not show house stelliums when the birth time is unknown, because houses depend on the Ascendant. If your birth time is approximate, treat house results as useful but not final near house cusps.

3-Body Rule vs 4-Body Rule

Astrologers do not use one single stellium rule. The standard modern convention starts at three bodies. A stricter convention starts at four, which filters out weaker or more common clusters. This page lets you switch between both rules before running the chart.

Two bodies do not make a stellium. Two bodies can still matter, especially if they are tightly conjunct, but that is a pair or a conjunction, not a stellium under the usual calculator rule.

Sign Stellium vs House Stellium

A sign stellium concentrates one zodiac sign. Three eligible bodies in Capricorn can make Capricorn themes hard to miss, even if those bodies fall across two houses. Pair the result with the dominant sign calculator to see whether the broader chart agrees.

A house stellium concentrates one life area. Three eligible bodies in the 10th house can point toward career, reputation, public role, and long-range ambition, even when the bodies occupy more than one sign. Pair it with the dominant house calculator when you want the full house-emphasis layer.

Stellium meanings by sign

Use these as the sign-level lens only. The bodies involved and the house placement decide how personal the stellium feels.

Aries stellium

Fast ignition, direct pressure, and a chart that wants to begin.

An Aries stellium concentrates heat around action, assertion, competition, and self-starting force. Read the bodies involved before calling it simple confidence. Mars in the cluster feels different from Venus or Saturn in the same sign.

Taurus stellium

Steadiness, appetite, craft, and the body as a truth test.

A Taurus stellium concentrates the chart around stability, preference, money, voice, food, touch, and what takes time to build. It can be deeply loyal, but it can also resist movement long after movement is needed.

Gemini stellium

Information in motion, language as contact, and a restless mind.

A Gemini stellium puts several planetary functions into Mercury's mutable air. The chart works through speech, writing, questions, quick exchange, and choice. The challenge is not curiosity. It is staying with one thread long enough to learn from it.

Cancer stellium

Memory, protection, kinship, and the private life made strong.

A Cancer stellium concentrates the chart around belonging, caretaking, emotional memory, and home. It often reads through loyalty and protection, but the house tells you whether that protection happens privately, publicly, or through relationship.

Leo stellium

Visibility, pride, creative heat, and the need to be witnessed.

A Leo stellium gathers several planet functions around the Sun's sign. The chart needs room for expression, play, performance, loyalty, and recognition. The better question is not whether the person wants attention, but what kind of attention lets the planets work honestly.

Virgo stellium

Repair, precision, service, and the craft of making things work.

A Virgo stellium concentrates the chart around analysis, technique, health, work rhythm, and useful skill. It can make the native extremely capable. It can also make every flaw feel louder than every finished thing.

Libra stellium

Comparison, beauty, negotiation, and the pressure of the other.

A Libra stellium routes several planets through Venus's cardinal air. Partnership, aesthetics, fairness, and social intelligence become strong themes. The blind spot is outsourcing the chart's own desire to preserve balance.

Scorpio stellium

Privacy, intensity, trust, and the material nobody wants to name.

A Scorpio stellium concentrates the chart around depth, secrecy, shared resources, loyalty tests, fear, and transformation. Read Mars, Pluto, and the house before flattening it into intensity. The cluster needs truth, but it rarely needs exposure for its own sake.

Sagittarius stellium

Distance, belief, teaching, travel, and the need for a bigger frame.

A Sagittarius stellium gathers several planets around Jupiter's mutable fire. The chart often reaches for study, travel, teaching, publishing, faith, or humor. The risk is outrunning the details that would make the vision usable.

Capricorn stellium

Structure, pressure, mastery, and the long road of responsibility.

A Capricorn stellium concentrates the chart around Saturn's cardinal earth. Duty, ambition, authority, boundaries, and delayed reward become hard to ignore. This can build real mastery, but it can also make achievement feel like the only safe language.

Aquarius stellium

Systems, distance, groups, and a mind organized around the future.

An Aquarius stellium puts several planets into Saturn's fixed air, with modern Uranian language often layered on top. Groups, systems, friendship, social distance, and strange timing all matter. The chart may need belonging and refusal at the same time.

Pisces stellium

Imagination, sensitivity, retreat, and porous contact with the unseen.

A Pisces stellium concentrates the chart around Jupiter's mutable water, with modern Neptune language often nearby. Art, spirit, compassion, sleep, grief, and boundary work can all become central. The house shows where the sensitivity needs form.

Why Another Calculator May Disagree

Different stellium calculators can disagree because the settings are different. One tool may count only planets. Another may include Chiron, the Ascendant, or lunar nodes. One may check signs only, while another checks houses too.

House system also matters. This calculator uses Whole Sign houses for house stelliums. Placidus, Equal, and other house systems can move a body into a different house, which can create or remove a house stellium. If house placement is the deciding factor, compare the result with the house system comparison calculator.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a stellium 2 or 3 planets?

A stellium usually starts at three planets or eligible chart bodies in one sign or house. Two planets can be important, especially if they are tightly conjunct, but most astrologers do not call two bodies a stellium.

Is a stellium 3 or 4 planets?

Both rules exist. The 3-body rule is the common modern calculator convention. The 4-body rule is stricter and filters for chart concentrations that stand out more clearly. This calculator lets you check either rule.

Does everyone have a stellium?

No. Some charts have one or more stelliums, and some have none. A chart without a stellium can still have a strong chart ruler, angular planets, a dominant planet, or a major aspect pattern.

Can I have more than one stellium?

Yes. You can have more than one stellium if separate signs or houses each contain enough bodies. Read each cluster separately first, then look for overlap between sign, house, and the bodies involved.

Can a stellium span two signs?

A sign stellium cannot span two signs, because it depends on one sign. A house stellium can include bodies in different signs if they all fall in the same house. A tight cluster across two signs may still matter, but it is not a sign stellium under the usual rule.

Which house system does this stellium calculator use?

The house stellium check uses Whole Sign houses. If a cluster depends on house placement near a boundary, compare it with the house system comparison calculator before treating the house result as final.

Do Chiron or the Ascendant count in this stellium calculator?

This calculator follows Augurine's aspect-pattern convention: Sun through Pluto, Chiron, and the Ascendant can count for sign stelliums when the birth time supports the Ascendant. House stelliums use eligible bodies with house placements and do not show when the birth time is unknown.
