What This Cyclocartography Calculator Measures

This tool checks the moving sky's angular lines near one destination at a fixed monthly cadence. It calculates a dated astrocartography overlay on the 15th of each month at 12:00 UTC, then measures the nearest Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto line.

At least two neighboring samples form a window when the same planet angle is observed within 300 miles. The result shows the observed checkpoints separately from the surrounding bounds on an unknown entry or exit time. It does not claim that the line stayed inside the band between samples.

Natal astrocartography is calculated from your birth data and shown as a separate context layer. Moving lines and the natal map remain separate in this method, and exact intersections remain outside its scope.

How This Cyclocartography Tool Differs from Canonical CCG

Jim Lewis's Cyclo*Carto*Graphy, often shortened to CCG, uses a different method. Canonical CCG combines progressed Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars positions with transiting Jupiter through Pluto, then reads those dynamic positions against the natal astrocartography frame.

This cyclocartography calculator currently computes dated transit angularity and presents natal astrocartography beside it as separate context. Its procedure name is sampled-transit-locality-v1. Read its output as monthly transit locality samples rather than a canonical CCG calculation.

Reading a Sampled Window

Each dot records the closest angular line for one slow planet at one monthly checkpoint. The planet supplies the theme, while MC, IC, ASC, or DSC identifies the area of life emphasized in the location reading.

A window requires at least two consecutive monthly samples where the same angle is observed inside the 300 mile band. Its closest approach comes directly from the nearest sampled value. Surrounding samples only bound an unknown entry or exit time. Retrograde turns and contacts between the monthly dates require a finer timing calculation.

The natal panel answers a separate question: which birth chart lines already run near the destination? Nearby natal lines can inform the reading. Exact dynamic to natal line intersection calculations remain outside this method.

Exact entry, peak, exit, station, and retrograde pass dates require a finer solver between those checkpoints.

Which planets appear in the timeline?

The monthly timeline checks Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. The separate current date snapshot checks the Sun through Pluto at 12:00 UTC. Faster bodies are omitted from the monthly timeline because one monthly checkpoint cannot represent their shorter contacts.

How close does a line need to be?

A monthly sample is Strong below 150 miles. Samples from 150 through 300 miles are Moderate. The current date and natal context panels search within 500 miles, then the current date panel shows the two nearest lines when none fall inside that radius.

Why does the form require an exact birth time?

The moving transit lines are dated sky positions, but the natal astrocartography panel depends on your birth angles. Those angles change quickly with clock time. The exact time requirement keeps the separate natal context from being presented with false precision.

How should I use the sampled windows?

Use them to compare planning periods or shortlist cities at monthly resolution. Read the planet and angle as an astrological pattern, then keep the measured distance and sample date visible.
