Bounds

Bounds (also called terms) divide each zodiac sign into unequal segments, each ruled by one of the five visible planets (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn). Think of a sign as a neighborhood divided into districts: even if you do not own the whole neighborhood, you might be the recognized authority in one particular district. A planet in its own bounds knows the local customs and has a quiet, behind-the-scenes influence. It scores +2 in the essential dignity system. This app uses the Ptolemaic bounds table, one of several traditional bounds systems, for degree-range lookups. Bounds are especially important in the Almuten Figuris calculation, where they provide fine-grained scoring at specific degrees.
