Zodiacal Releasing

Zodiacal releasing (ZR) is a Hellenistic timing technique preserved prominently in the work of the 2nd-century astrologer Vettius Valens. Think of your life as a novel: ZR gives you the table of contents. It divides your life into long chapters (spanning years or decades), sub-chapters, and even shorter sections, based on where your Lot of Fortune or Lot of Spirit falls in your chart. Each chapter is colored by the planet that rules its zodiac sign. Some sections are quiet interludes; others are 'peak periods' where the plot moves forward more visibly, often coinciding with career, health, relationship, or life-milestone themes depending on the chart and the Lot used. ZR helps you understand whether you are in a climactic scene or a quiet interlude, so you can work with that timing rather than treating every period the same.
