Annual Profection

Annual profections are a simple but powerful timing technique from ancient astrology. Think of your birth chart as a building with twelve rooms. Each year on your birthday, a different room gets its lights turned on. At age 0 the 1st room (self and identity) is active, at age 1 the 2nd (money and values), at age 12 you start back at the 1st room, and the cycle repeats. The planet that rules the active room becomes your 'time lord' for that year, the planet whose themes dominate your experience. For example, if you're in a 7th-house year, partnerships take center stage. If Venus rules that house in your chart, love and relationships become especially significant. This technique helps explain why different years of your life feel so different from each other.
