1st House

The 1st House begins at your Ascendant and is the most personal area of your chart. Think of the twelve houses as rooms in a building, each dedicated to a different area of life; the 1st House is the front door. It governs your physical appearance, personality, and the way you approach new beginnings. Any planets here strongly color your outward persona and are immediately visible to others. The sign on its cusp is your Rising Sign, and its ruling planet becomes your chart ruler.
