Opposition

An opposition forms when two planets sit directly across the chart from each other, about 180° apart. Think of a seesaw: when one side goes up, the other goes down, and the work is learning to keep it level. Oppositions create a pull between two competing needs, and they often play out through relationships, where you attract people who embody the side you are neglecting. Someone with Moon opposite Mars might feel deeply emotional but keep attracting forceful, assertive partners, because they have not yet claimed their own assertiveness. When balanced, oppositions offer a wide, inclusive perspective that neither planet could achieve alone.
