Abhijit, meaning 'Victorious,' corresponds to Vega (alpha Lyrae) and is the intercalary 28th nakshatra, used only in certain systems of Vedic horary astrology (Muhurta). Under its influence, the Gods vanquished the Asuras (demons), making it a nakshatra of supreme triumph and divine victory.
