Antares

fixed_stars

Antares sits at approximately 10 degrees Sagittarius and takes its name from the Greek 'anti-Ares,' meaning rival of Mars, because its deep red color closely resembles the planet. As the Watcher of the West among the four Persian Royal Stars, Antares presides over the autumnal equinox and themes of death, transformation, and regeneration. Its Mars-Jupiter nature produces intensity, strategic brilliance, and the capacity to confront what others fear. The moral condition attached to Antares requires that the native avoid obsession, excess, and recklessness. When this is met, it grants remarkable power in crisis situations.
