Lilith in Sagittarius puts the refusal into the temperament itself. Jupiter rules Sagittarius, the sign of conviction, of the big claim, of the fire that wants to cover distance. Lilith here does not show up primarily as the biography of who she left; that belongs to the 9th-house placement. She shows up as a style: restless, morally awake, unwilling to feign belief, allergic to rooms in which the stated worldview is visibly thinner than the one everyone actually uses.
